Ladybank Honey
Ladybank honey is sold out for now but the bees are busy making more. Updates to follow
Thornton Honey
Thornton honey is sold out for now but the bees are busy making more. Updates to follow
The bees have been very busy and with the warm Spring they have produced lovely honey at Ladybank and Thornton. As you can see the Ladybank honey is more golden and runny, and the Thornton honey is paler and more set- both are delicious. This difference is because the bees have been foraging on different flowers.
Spring honey harvest 2025
We have two main apiary sites where the bees have access to a variety of different nectar and pollen. This Spring our bees at Ladybank have been feasting on various plants and trees including blackthorn, crocus, gorse, dandelion and many more. At Thornton the bees have had very tasty diet too including a lot of bright yellow oilseed rape -which they love. This has meant that we have been able to extract some delicious honey.
Scottish honey from the Fife countryside
Jean’s bees produce delicious honey from foraging in the fields, trees and hedgerows of the Fife. Their hives are located at Ladybank near Cupar, and also at Thornton between Glenrothes and Kirkcaldy.
We love bees, honey and the environment.
We are passionate about our bees and firmly believe that happy healthy bees produce the best honey. This is one of our bees foraging in the farmhouse garden. This year we planted more than 20 native trees and five acres of a special wild flower mix. We know the bees and other wildlife will absolutely love this.
